Its quite possible that many of you have taken yourself off to another salon for a treatment and found that the experience was not as good as you had hoped it would be. Maybe the room was untidy, not fresh, clean, or looked disorganised.
Your work area is a reflection on you. How it appears to others can allow them to assume that this is exactly how you are in person.
Now looking around my office right now I have many projects in piles, all waiting for my attention, its an orderly state of affairs, however, this is my office, and I don’t see clients here.
What clients do see though is my vehicle, my notepad, my travel bag that I carry all of my tools of trade in when I go out to visit people. These items have to be representative of the type of image I want to present. If I happened to become a little too relaxed about things, then that could work against me. Maintaining a great image in everything I do represents how I value my work, my position, and myself.
In your salon, take a moment to look around you and take note of your extended image.
Is your reception desk clean and tidy?
Does your treatment room look inviting and professional?
Is your visual merchandising of your salon product sending the right messages?
Is your waiting area communicating your salons vision and purpose, with the right literature for your clients to read?
If you were the client, how would your work space appear to you?
