Worst case scenario, is that staff leave because of their insecurities or unwillingness to perform.

This week alone I’ve spoken to over 6 salon owners who have all been thrown in the deep end themselves due to staff leaving suddenly or just not turning up.
That leaves them stressed, frustrated, overworked from having to reschedule everything, knowing clients are annoyed and potentially business has been lost.

What cost is this having on your business and you. It is serious.
Staff need to know what they can do to lift their game. That’s if they are serious about being better than average and in demand by salon owners like you. If they don’t know how, they can’t.
They will just keep doing what they have always done and not grow themselves or help your salon to grow either. That’s spiralling downwards, which you don’t want, right?
What if your staff knew what to do, knew how to create the right type of conversation to build trust and loyalty, knew when the right time was to introduce a product, and recommend the purchase? What if they could do this consistently day in, day out?
Do you think that might improve morale and inspire them to continue?
It will, especially if you’re recognising them for their achievements.
The fact is, no one likes going to work everyday where it is same old, same old, nothing exciting happens, no successes to report, no achievements to inspire them.
They don’t know what they don’t know. Give them the tools and knowledge to create purpose, inspire them to be passionate about your business and the products you use. Invest in their potential.
For if you have the right staff, what you will see happen is a:
- Change of attitude
- Greater engagement
- Greater awareness of what they are there for
- Interest in wanting to be better than average
- More focus on what they want to achieve for the day
A manager I once worked for said… the results I achieve are only as good as the people working for me!
That’s the fact.
