Authenticity: The Importance of being authentic

Authenticity- The Importance of being authentic

Are you being authentic? What I mean by that is are you demonstrating something that is sincere to you and your brand, not the brands you stock but your brand! What you represent and how you want your clients to see you?

It’s easy, when you are carrying a specific brand to get caught up in the promotions that they offer you and try to on sell them to your clients.

That’s all well and good, if what you are promoting is what your clients want and aligns with your authentic you. I can remember some of my promotions taking off, and others being absolute flops. There’s a reason for that and it’s your job to work it out, or work with someone who can help you work it out.

In my last blog, I talked about 4 questions and whether you could honestly and sincerely answer those.

The questions again were:

  1. What are you trying to accomplish this year?
  2. What do you think you would need to double your business this year?
  3. What strategies have you already tried to improve your business that worked, and that didn’t work?
  4. What do you think holds you back the most?

I’m going to be taking each question individually over the coming weeks and work with you to arrive at a solution.

So, first question!

What are you trying to achieve this year!

Be sincere! Is it increased sales, increased clients, increase number of visits, seeing an increase to your bottom line, because let’s face it, expenses aren’t about to go down, perhaps you might be thinking about improving your image and positioning in the local market?

Some of you might be happy with stabilising your team and being able to take some time out?

If you can’t be honest with yourself about this question, then where are you heading?

Today’s task is therefore, to sit down, pen in hand and really ask yourself what would excite you this year? What are you trying to achieve. Not with the brands you carry, but what do you want to achieve for you and your salon.

The answer to that question will be one of the cornerstones to you being able to plan the how!

If this is a hard one for you to answer, help is only a click away.
