I was hosting a breakfast this morning with salon owners and managers to talk about my book ‘Invaluable’: What every salon owner wanting success needs to know. It was an informal affair but it gave opportunity to discuss openly and candidly the issues salon owners face these days in trying to keep clients rebooking, and attracting new clients who will rebook and value the services you offer.
It was a consensus, that the industry has changed so much over the past 10 years, and there is so much competition, that salons do really have to have that special something that is going to ensure clients make an enquiry and then want to return.
I asked the question, what makes your salon different from the other salons offering the same treatments and products? The answer was customer experience. No surprise, but when we began talking about the ways you can engage and delight customers after the initial consultation, it seemed there were definitely some space for improvement.
What I mean by that is thinking about extending the ‘oh my goodness, I loved that treatment and the salon staff were amazing’ kind of feeling you want your customers to have long after they have left.
I liken it to the ‘x factor’ quality. A quality that you cannot describe that makes someone very special.
You see it is all about standing out from the crowd, by owning and maintaining a fabulous reputation and image, that creates powerful impressions on people, causing them to take positive action. What keeps them with you is your integrity in business and how much you value your whole worth.
This is the core and steps of my unique iBrand system, it’s what I am passionate about and what is being recognised by the industry as necessary skills to own and master if you want to really make a difference and be seen as the preferred choice by your customers, new and existing.
What do you do that is different from your competition that makes you a stand alone?
I would be really interested in your feedback, so much so that the best answer will be sent a copy of my book ‘Invaluable’ as a thank you for your contribution.
In the next blog, I will share that information, so you, as a salon gets some free publicity from me.
This is Julie Hyne, wishing you salon brilliance and success.
