Julie Hyne AICI FLC
Julie Hyne is a successful business owner as well as an accomplished and experienced trainer, public speaker and presenter. She has major qualifications and experience that spans over 25 years working in industries where image and style are vitally important.
Julie began her career in 1983 after graduating with a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Catering and Hotel Management. With a passion for working at the front line, Julie held senior sales roles for establishments of ‘The Leading Hotels of the World’, a major airline, and American Express International Inc. Her work and success within these roles awarded her many letters of commendation from large corporate companies including Mayne Nickless, NEC, Orica, Caterpillar and Telecom.
In 2000, Julie began her own makeup and skin fitness business called ‘Appearances Count’ and had a healthy private client base as well as working with private girls schools on grooming and presentation for their graduating students.
Julie quickly realised that her business and past experience gave her a yearning to want to do more in the field of image. In 2003, Julie qualified as a certified Colour, Style and Image Consultant with The Australian Image Company.
In 2005, Julie made a strategic move to leverage her image consultancy with the beauty industry and acquired her own salon. Her business was the only salon that offered beauty, skin, colour and style as a complete one stop shop.
Her improvements to the look and feel of the salon, the products it used, and her marketing efforts earned the salon awards from ‘The Australian Achievers’ for small business in both 2007, and 2008, and also was a finalist in local business achievers awards programs.
During this period, Julie also became accredited with the Association of Image Consultants International, and completed her Psychology of Style Certificate with ‘The Body Beautiful Institute’.
Her involvement in local business and the community meant Julie became a regular writer for local publications on topics covering skin, image and style. A keen networker, Julie has been a founding Committee Member for Frankston Women Connect, and is still on the committee for Mornington Women in the Workplace. Both of these groups supports local small to medium businesses.
In 2010, Julie sold her salon to focus on her image and styling consultancy. Since then Julie has acquired many personal and corporate clients, who rely on her expertise in personal branding, image and styling to help them gain a competitive edge. Julie also has worked as a stylist with Westfield and Centro groups, the resident stylist for Brand Smart Premium Outlets, and Camberwell Shopping Centre in Melbourne Australia.
Julie has also been Secretary to the Melbourne Chapter of the Association of Image Consultants International for the past 2 years, again showing her dedication and commitment to the field of Image that she is so passionate about.
Since selling the salon Julie has acquired a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Certificate in Television Presenting that has given her the skills to become an accomplished presenter for camera in a variety of situations.
Her memories and experience in owning and running her salon for so many years, and supporting several industry trainees, led her to develop Business 4 Beauty. This is the only Image Management program available to the salon industry, and is a culmination of all that Julie represents. Image, Style, and commitment to excellence. It was her idea and motivation to write the program after witnessing the setbacks the industry has in attracting and maintaining high standards for the people who work in it and also the establishments they work in.
Julie’s commitment and dedication to helping people “create the right impression, first time, every time” is what has made her business a successful and respected personal style consultancy, and she aims to help the salon industry now in this way.
