What do you do this time of year
to introduce Christmas into your salon?
How can you make an impact on your clients and have them leave with a wonderful feeling of appreciation for all the work you have done?
I used to love taking the time to change subtle things in the salon to create a Christmas feel. Small things such as changing the cushions, aspects of your bed linen, small and tasteful decorations throughout, a Christmas embroidered towel in the bathroom, these all do a lot to change the look and feel of your salon and put a smile on your clients face.
You can introduce some Christmas music into your iPod shuffle, and also have a small token of your appreciation to give your clients when they rebook for the New Year and say goodbye for the last time this year.
Try not to be too sales like at Christmas, it is a time for giving, so why not do that in the form of information and advice? A newsletter recommending ‘10 things to think about before Christmas’ can mean a lot to clients who are really busy. It helps them get organized, and if you can bring other traders into this and recommend and suggest other local business offerings too, it does a lot to promote goodwill and clients will see you as being generous with your information and nice to do business with.
If you are selling Christmas vouchers and packages, and lets face it you would be silly if you didn’t, put them into a menu book at reception, it allows clients to flip through the menu quickly, and they can easily choose something that you have already printed and ready to go. It saves them time and it saves you time when your salon gets busy and there is a queue waiting to purchase vouchers. Having a couple of voucher menus allows clients to choose while they are waiting, so you don’t run the risk of them leaving to go elsewhere.
On the subject of communication, don’t forget your etiquette, and include a Christmas message to all of your texts, emails, newsletters and voice messages.
Christmas in your salon can be a wonderful time to promote your business and image without even trying hard.
Your task for this week:
What can you be doing to make your salon stand out and be noticed this Christmas. Remember, it’s not always about the Christmas packages you have to sell, but the experience your client walks away with.
What would mean a lot to your clients at Christmas, that you can do that doesn’t cost a lot, but gives enormous value? Please leave your comments below.
